Oftentimes, once we set a goal, we become focused on reaching it. After achieving that big promotion, set yourself another challenging goal to keep you grounded and driven to do even better than before. If you need a best practice, follow Matthew McConaughey's example during his 2014 Oscars acceptance speech:

"And to my hero, that’s who I chase. Now, when I was 15 years old, I had a very important person in my life come to me and say, “Who’s your hero?” And I said, “I don’t know, I’ve got to think about that. Give me a couple of weeks.” I come back two weeks later, this person comes up and says, “Who’s your hero?” I said, “I thought about it. It’s me in 10 years.” So I turned 25. Ten years later, that same person comes to me and says, “So, are you a hero?” And I was like, “Not even close! No, no no!” He said, “Why?” I said, “Because my hero’s me at 35.”
So you see every day, every week, every month, and every year of my life, my hero’s always ten years away. I’m never going to be my hero. I’m not going to attain that. I know I’m not. And that’s just fine with me, because that keeps me with somebody to keep on chasing." -- Matthew McConaughey

Who is your hero? Hopefully, it's YOU 10 years from now. After my best friend passed three years ago, my hero is who I will be 10 years from now. Now, I have to work to become that, which will keep me busy for the next 10 years. No time for complacency here.

That's what I want for you as well. Hopefully, this post inspires YOU to always be grateful for where you came from (and what you had overcome), refrain from being complacent, and keep chasing after the BEST future version of yourself, however long it takes to "reach" it.

-Philip Blackett

Are you inspired by this post? Do you agree with Matthew McConaughey's philosphy? Let us know what you think!

Dear friends,

The next training is scheduled for Thursday 4th and Friday 5th June, 2015at 9am . below are the details:

The 2-day training will comprise of sessions include, Effective Report Writing, Leadership and Workplace Ethics, Time and Resource Management, Personal Branding and Networking, Proposal Writing, CV writing and Interview Simulation.

Attendance is normally charged at N2000, however, we have decided to ioffer attendees two options:
1. You pay the fee on attendance
2. We defer your payment till when we place you in an internship and ONLY from your first stipend. This means that you can come for the training next week without paying and once you are placed by us in an internship, the one-off N3000 fee will ONLY be deducted from your first stipend.

The fees normally go into covering the cost of hiring the venue for the training and refreshments for facilitators who we cannot afford to pay but have volunteered to support the programme.
