Entertainment Journalist


Position Summary
The successful candidate is expected to cover and turn in well-written report on concerts, event launches and promotions as well as generate the required buzz for these events and provide post-coverage analysis.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Attend and cover company events such as concerts, shows, promotions and other activities
Generate required pre-event publicity materials through well-crafted press write-ups and releases
Turn in creative, well- written reports on events attended for publication in the media
Track and provide reports/feedback on coverage of press releases to gauge slant and effectiveness
Provide post-event analysis of press coverage in order to ascertain areas of improvement
Liaise with members of the Press to ensure that events and releases receive utmost publicity
Build smooth, proactive working relationship with entertainment blogs, media contacts and platforms
Handle internal communications for the company
Assist in the drafting and publication of the organization’s newsletter and other external publications
Contribute to team effort by assisting with other assigned tasks and responsibilities as required.

Minimum Qualification & Experience Requirements
At least 3 year experience in the entertainment segment of the media
Demonstrable evidence of entertainment/creative writing (bylines/past works may be required)
Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication, English or equivalent qualification
