One of the most notorious Boko Haram commanders, Abu Mojahid, has been killed. The incident occurred when the terrorists mounted a daring offensive on troops who were on patrol at the outskirts of Alagarno town in Borno state yesterday.

According to Military spokesman, Major General Chris Olukolade, several other Boko haram fighters died in the encounter and the rest repelled by the soldiers. He also added that aggressive patrols, mopping up as well as cordon and search were ongoing in other locations. A BBC report yesterday indicated that troops had intensified offensive, including aerial bombing targeted at the various terrorist enclaves.
