Women in Ikere-Ekiti have issued a seven-day ultimatum to the All progressives Congress lawmakers in the state, to shelve their impeachment idea or the gods will be invoked against them.

The women said this during a peaceful protest staged against the plot to remove Governor Ayo Fayose and his Deputy by the APC lawmakers in the state. The women, in their hundreds, started the protest as early as 5.am at Oke Oja Area and danced round the town, chanting anti-lawmakers songs, warning that should the lawmakers attempt to impeach Fayose, violence would erupt in the state. The women stressed that any confrontation against Fayose was a direct confrontation against the people of Ikere Ekiti, where the Deputy Governor, Olubunmi Olusola, hails from.
