One thing I know about this article is that the writer is trying to promote tribal conflict. A very close analysis shows a big biasness rather than the innocence he is portraying. |

Perfectly written, i am from Agbor and i totally love the way delta state keeps two capitals. it is the fastest way to develop the state and avoid over population and concentration in a city. this creates more jobs in general for the people. i know what asaba used to look like in the 90s, right now asaba is a city of its own right. companies have established there, there is a growing real estate biz already there. i think it is a win win for every one, it is only fair Warri gets the attention it does. Afterall resources in delta province bankrolls not just the state but the country. Delta has the most sensitive political climate, where whatever you do in asaba must be replicated in warri and whatever you do in ughelli must be replicated in agbor else u are asking for trouble..lol. equality is a fundamental pillar of a sensitized society. |

No offence meant before the creation of delta state there were towns more popular than asaba apart warri..( which was d main city with historical records., blessed with human and natural resources. Nw tell me why a city shud get its fair share of development).. Towns like sapele, ughelli.. When looking at planning!, warri was far too congested compared to asaba so selecting it as a state capital to me wud nt have suited the purpose.. state capitals are chosen in undeveloped areas that r unplanned so that d master plan can b carried out. And normally. Nearly all state capitals re located at the centre of the state.. but nepotism played it's role in asaba being a state capital... Finally, it's good news for delta state.. unlike other states where one city (state capitals) dominate d affairs of the state thereby. Leaving the other part of d state in decay.. e.g rivers state where other towns tend to merge with d capital city just to chop from govt which is normally their right. Delta state is expanding.. even warri is expanding to nearby regions.. (agbaro, ughelli, osubi, effurun et al)... #namydelta We have things other states craves for.. We too much abeg |
