Ghanaians Vent Their Anger On John Dumelo For Defending John Mahama by emeka1101: 9:42am On Apr 30, 2015
Rome wasn’t built in a day, spare Mahama
– Dumelo tells critics

Celebrated screen icon and TV personality John
Dumelo has urged critics of President John
Dramani Mahama to get off his back and give
him time to solve the numerous challenges
that have bedeviled the country.
Speaking to host of Morning Starr Kafui Dey
Wednesday on Starr 103.5FM, Dumelo who
campaigned for President Mahama ahead of
the 2012 elections said the President needs
help and not criticism to solve the challenges
in the country.
“We should just give him [Mahama] time to
solve the problems, the problems are there
but it's four years, Rome wasn’t built in a
day… and if after 2016 the problems are not
solved then we know what to do.
“But I think a lot of people are putting
pressure on him and it’s not as if he doesn’t
want to solve the problems, he does so we
should just give him time”.
Dumelo also revealed that he lost several
endorsements from some companies due to his
decision to campaign for the President during
the 2012 electioneering period.
“I actually lost some endorsements deals
because I did something for the NDC. I don’t
regret it at all,” Dumelo said.
Ghana over the last three years has struggled
to solve its energy crisis which has led to the
collapse of some companies.
The country sheds between 450 megawatts and
600 megawatts during peak and off peak
periods. The situation has forced some major
companies in the country to lay off workers

Well you can pat yourself on the back for this assumption. Language is nothing in the grand scheme of things. What is far more important is the unity and political sophistication that makes Ghanaians unanimously able to stand as one, whether Fanti, Ewe or Ashanti, to call out political misrule and under-performance for what it is. Unlike Nigeria where many, because of ethno-religious bias, are happy to vote for the continuation of a clearly failed and horribly misruling Government.

Personally I would prefer Nigerians be the worst at using the English language in the world in favour of us being a people who know how to shun sentiments and ethno-religious bias to hold elected leaders accountable as the Ghanaians seem able to do. Unless Dramani Mahama does something drastically transformational or positive then the Ghanaian election will not be as close as ours was because Mahama will be voted out overwhelmingly with even his own children probably voting against him.

Mahama is gone. Ghanaians , politically more united than Nigerians in my opinion, are even more angry with him than divided Nigerians were with GEJ. Very difficult to rig elections in Ghana in favour of a very unpopular candidate. Incumbents losing in Ghana is no big deal at all. Give or take, the will of the people prevails in Ghana. I personally want Mahama gone. Ghana deserves better than him. I can tell you that he is very corrupt and has caused the problems of Ghana with his dedication to corruptly enriching cronies and political affiliates to the detriment of the nation. I know some of his affiliates, some barely literate, who were very broke before he came to power yet are now luxuriating in garish opulence. I am sure Ghanaians will do the needful and dump Mahama.

I did not fancy Nana Akufo-Addo last time round but I think Ghanaians should now give him a chance. The Buhari factor may work for him because NPP will use the Nigerian example, especially if Buhari is doing well, to argue the merit of going with an elderly and wise leader who is too old to seek personal fortunes but is not too old to be on a patriotic 'rescue mission' .
