I have some questions to ask.
1. What is the clear difference between hosted blog and domain name?
2. How much does a domain name cost?
3. Lets say i created a blog: www.meagain..com . I now decided to make it a full site. Www.meagain.com .
Now, can i change it from . to .com without fear of losing the original name.(i.e, can another person use the same name as .com while am still using the ., or does it mean that once i've created the ., no one can use the same name again, even in .com) hope you guys get my point.

domain name varies, weda .com, .net, .org. . .com is about $8.99 i.e. N1,670. . .net and .org, 'em nt sure.

we term it as domain parking. . U buy a .com domain. . Park it and set nameservers. . Ans 2 ur 3rd question is, u can still use d .com and ..com 2geda. Dats all.

if i start a blog (i.e ..com) and after 3 months want to change it to .com.
There is a possibility that some cyber squatters will buy the .com before me, and i can't get the .com of that particular site (e.g i started nearnaija..com, after 3 months of intensive blogging, i want to change it to nearnaija.com, buh unfortunately it is not available because someone has chosen it, i.e the .com).
How true is this?

hmmm. . Dat can't b possible. . If u read Things to consider before starting a blog you would understand more. U av 2 find a name 4 ur blog dat hasn't been used b4 by any webmaster or fellow blogger. Better still, register d . and at once, change it 2 .com domain xo dat s0me cyber squatters as u call them won't b able 2 park it b4 u.
