Former Secretary General of the Commonwealth, Chief Emeka Anyaoku has said that by conceding defeat even before the presidential election result was fully announced, President Goodluck Jonathan has earned for the country “a great deal of international respect and admiration”. Addressing state House correspondents after the final meeting of the Presidential Advisory Committee on International Relations with President Jonathan, Chief Anyaoku said Nigeria and Nigerians owe the out going president a huge debt of gratitude. Chief Anyaoku who is the chairman of the committee said “We had an excellent Valedictory meeting. It is the last for our council, it is the last we are meeting with the outgoing President. “We told him that our nation Nigeria owes him a huge debt of gratitude for what he has done in terms of the success of the elections and above all in terms of the gesture of picking up the telephone and congratulating the President elect even before the final results of the elections were announced. That singular act has earned our country a great deal of admiration and respect abroad. www.vanguardngr.com/2015/05/jonathans-earned-nigeria-international-respect-anyaoku/ |

Another misguided hack, you won't rewrite history so soon. I remember chibok scandal, patience, corrupton stories everywhere, incompetency, poor handling of boko haram, do we go on? What international respect? Buhari has not even started on the job and he has earned the country more respect than the Jonathan of a person. |

GEJ is a shinning example. Look what is happening in Burundi now because a selfish president is going the Obasanjo way by seeking a third term. |

Yeah, GEJ salvaged whatever is left of his reputation by conceding defeat, congratulating Buhari and saving millions of lives in the process, not excluding stop the impending chaos that would have ensued. By so doing, he showed other African countries how to run a democractic government. But we're past this now. We can't keep repeating the same ish over and over again. That's in the past, it's time to move on and for the new government to show us what they got. Let's start seeing the change |
