Abu Huraira narrated: The Prophet said, "When an adulterer commits illegal sexual intercourse, then he is not a believer at the time he is doing it, and when a drinker of an alcoholic liquor drinks it, then he is not a believer at the time of drinking, and when a thief steals, then he is not a believer at the time of stealing, and when a robber robs, and the people look at him, then he is not a believer at the time of robbery.

A believer is momentarily not a believer when commiting any major sin (not praying, adultery, not fasting etc) for his faith at that moment flees him like a bird flees a coming danger, then comes back to him when he is done and repents.

How futile could someone's life be and what could be more inexplicably painful! A believer who lives only to die a disbeliever in such an ill moment!

May Allah make abstinence from sinful acts easy for us all, prepare our minds to uphold sunnah and unite the ummah in love and understanding.
