Popular caller ID service TrueCaller has just recently announced an agreement with Cyanogen Inc; and aims at improving the current phone dialer experience on Android phones. Subsequent phones that ship with Cyanogen OS will have an enhanced android dialer app that will incorporate Truecaller’s spam blocking and caller identification features by default.

Although TrueCaller software will be preinstalled in all phones that run Cyanogen OS, it won’t be included as a standalone app. Rather; existing Truecaller features like automatic blocking of known spam callers and unknown caller identification will be integrated into the native phone app. With Truecaller’s existing database of more than 1.6 billion numbers, users will have more information about unknown callers at their fingertips. Existing users of cyanogens OS phones will also be install the new dialer app via OTA updates, while other android users will be able to install Truecaller’s existing standalone app via Google playstore.
