I don't know if we have all paused to think that Dora is the INFORMATION MINISTER!! for goodness sake. Not the Health minister, not the powr and steel minister, and defnitely not the President of the Federal Republic. As Infrmation minister, IT IS HER JOB TO REBRAND Nigeria even if she has t lie to do it. If you have had any opportnity of runnin coy or being the PR of a coy, you will understand the position better. So all these negative talks aimed at her is not, in my opinion, warranted. Rather, we should aim our talk at other ministers who ARE NOT doing their jobs.

Dora is simply doing hers

Hhmm . . . So now we rationalize the act of lying to cover up the truth fate and condition of living for millions of poor Nigerians, by claiming this her simply doing her job well?  WOW!!! And we complain about abacha regime why again?? She might want to recruit the help of the North Korean minister of information then. I mean he seems to be doing a good job covering up the attrocities against mankind in his job too grin

Every effort made by a Nigeria to better the lots of Nigerians is first condemned by the same Nigerians.
A lot of you guys posting here don't really know Dora Akunyili. She is a woman of integrity, she does not steal
from Nigeria's purse like others do. She got to where she is today by the virtue of her integrity and only her integrity.

I was privileged to meet with her last week Thursday in Abuja and we both had a long
talk about the re-branding exercise. This woman means well for Nigeria but she's not getting
the needed support. All she's been getting had been criticism from so many people like you Nairalanders.

Dora has not said that the media re-branding is the only solution to Nigeria's problem, it is only a part of it.
And if given the needed support, am sure Nigeria will be better off.
Sometimes I wonder if Nigerians home and abroad have not suffered enough from the bad image the country had
consistently projected to the whole world over the years. There are good things happening in our country and what the
re-branding exercise expect from us is to also focus more on the positive side of Nigeria while we address the negative ones.

Fair enough. You have told us Madam rebranding side of the story. Next time you meet her respectfully put across some questions regarding rebranding on my behalf. Ask her if it is logical for intelligent Nigerians with their faculties intact to take her rebranding excercise seriously when she works for and with folks who are doing grave damage to our country's image daily. Ask her why her boss (Yar Adua ) preached electoral reform and yet , when he had the chance to improve our image immensely as a serious nation, chose to behave like a dictatorial and partisan "do-or-die" tout  during the recently concluded Ekiti elections before the entire World !!! Does Madam Rebranding not feel that rebranding is lost on Yar Adua and many leaders (to include herself) with the shameful and disgraceful conducts they displayed to the World during the Ekiti election?  Ask Madam if , like everything else in one-sided Nigeria where the elites can do no wrong , rebranding is for only the ordinary folks to follow while our leaders can carry on behaving even more shamefully than they have done in the past  . Ask Madam rebranding if she understands the saying "charity begins at home". I await Madam rebrandings reply. thank you.
