Words on the marble. Though harsh, but painfully true. 89 years after Lord Lugard made this infamous statement, the stark reality staring at us proves him right. Africans are still backward till this age. Our hatred for our fellow race is the bane of our existence. sad sad sad if you want to doubt him, take a look at the current cesspit Nigeria is in.

I read D. O. Fagunwa's novel while growing up then but lost it. I had to look for it last year when I was receiving lectures for early African writings in the course African Political Thought. It's good to study history my people because it will elevate u above ethno-religious sentiments.if govt is desirous of ending ethno-religious tensions in d land then d subject History (esp of Nig) should be reintroduced and made compulsory in our schls frm primary to higher institutions. Nice job @op.

By d way, if u want to write biography of ur father, mother etc or history of ur church, mosque, locality, village, town, institutions, schools, clubs, associations etc9 contact me via jibolatoye@yahoo.com, www.facebook.com/gyboler or @jibolaolatoye twitter on
