A model whose bottom came second in Brazil's Miss BumBum beauty contest has revealed the terrible harm plastic surgery wreaked on her body.
Andressa Urach, 27, spent a month in intensive care and feared she would lose her leg after fillers 'rotted' her muscles and had to be removed, triggering a life-threatening infection.

These photos show the shocking extent of the damage to one of the most controversial TV presenters in Brazil - a nation which has overtaken the U.S. to become the cosmetic surgery capital of the world.
Miss Urach, who once made hotly-contested claims that she slept with footballer Cristiano Ronaldo, has reportedly undergone at least nine cosmetic procedures in the past five years.

They were said to have included a nose job, a bioplasty facial 'correction', jaw reduction, breast enlargement, liposuction and even vaginal lip reduction.
Most important of all was her prized rear. It won her the runner-up title in the 2012 Miss BumBum contest, which aims to find Brazil's most attractive bottom.

She reportedly had injections of two filers, hydrogel and PMMA, to make it larger and more plump.But in July she began complaining of discomfort and had 400ml of hydrogel drained from each of her upper thighs.

She told Brazil's R7 website at the time: 'The hydrogel was not absorbed by my body and started to harm me.
Now I've discovered that the PMMA is sticking to my muscles and causing the tissue to rot.

Despite the operation, she continued to be in pain and in November she was taken to the Conceicao Hospital in Porto Alegre with an advanced infection of her left leg.She underwent two unsuccessful drainage procedures, according to reports, before suffering from septic shock and being moved to intensive care.
At one point her life was in danger and it was claimed her leg could have had to be amputated.

Her mother Marisete De Favari logged in to her Twitter account, asking the model's 220,000 followers to pray for her as she remained on the ward in a serious state.

'I would ask for prayers from friends and people who wish for the recovery of my daughter,' she wrote on December 10.
'She's starting to walk, put her foot down and sit. After all this time lying down, she expected it would be painful. She has been taking morphine since entering the hospital, but now they are taking the drugs away from her gradually.

David Cameron and Barack Obama are so close that the United States President calls him “Bro,” the Prime Minister has claimed.
Saying that the two leaders are on intimate terms, he added: “The President has said the special relationship is stronger than it has ever been privately and in public and I agree.”

Ahlaji Orezi was about to perform his hit song, Shoki, at the school’s freshers event when the university’s chaplain, Pastor Gbenga Akosile entered the hall and ordered that the DJ, who was a student of the school, not to play the song.

The oldest photograph to capture a human being from 1838 by Louis Daguerre has surfaced online.

The photo has been seen before but got more attention after being published on the website Mashable. The image shows a city street in Paris that appears to be empty. Appears because most of the people and carriages in the street were moving too quickly to be captured with the seven minute exposure time.

However, in the lower left corner of the photograph, a man can be seen getting his boots shined. The two figures can be seen because they are relatively still.

The photo was of the Boulevard du Temple, known for its cafes, theaters and restaurants. It was nicknamed "Boulevard du Crime" because it is where the crime melodramas happened until Napoleon III had the streets of Paris modernized and remodeled in 1853.

Ji-sung Park was delighted to be back at Old Trafford on Saturday following his appointment as Manchester United's new club ambassador.
The former midfielder took advantage of the Everton match being played a day later to have a private look around the stadium he called home for seven years. He also paid a visit to the Aon Training Complex where he caught up with the club's retired kit manager Albert Morgan, a good friend during his time as a player.
"I’m very happy to be back," Park told ManUtd.com. "I got very used to Manchester - its atmosphere, its weather - when I played here so it's very familiar to me. I felt very comfortable when I got off the train today."
Park, who retired from football in May, admits he didn't expect he'd ever return to United after leaving to join Queens Park Rangers in the summer of 2012.
"I thought my relationship with Manchester United was finished because it’s a huge club and I am just one of the many players who come in, play here and then leave. So when the club asked me to become an ambassador, I couldn’t believe it but of course, I was happy to accept. It’s a huge, huge honour for me."
When asked about the duties he expects to fulfill in his new position, Park explained: "Manchester United holds many events around the world with its commercial partners and I will be involved in some of those, meeting the partners and the fans and sharing my experiences as a player. It’s a new role for me after retiring from football and I’m really looking forward to doing it."
As the first Asian player to play for the Reds, Park remains an iconic figure for many United fans around the globe, not least in his native continent. But why does he think the club has such a passionate following there? "There are all kinds of reasons. The great history, the level of football… Manchester United can touch your heart. That’s why Asian people love the club. I'm looking forward to seeing them and fans from all over the world again as a club ambassador."
