Gov. Chibuike Amaechi of Rivers said on Sunday that the president-elect had respect for rule-of-law and due process as a democrat.

Amaechi disclosed this at a thanksgiving service in Port Harcourt organised by the campaign organisation of Dr Dakuku Peterside, Rivers gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the just-concluded general elections.

The service was to celebrate God's faithfulness throughout the election period.

He urged supporters of the APC to prepare their petitions against those that compromised the elections in the state and perpetrated different forms of malpractices.

According to Amaechi, the president-elect is a man of rule of law who will not punish anybody without due process.
