From personal experience, it has been afirmed by me that as a newbie, starting out with more than one website could be very distracting, fund sapping and very in effective.

What is your take on this?

it all depends on the niche and person involved. It could be time consuming though but you can employ someone to take care some of the site

it can if they know what they are doing. Newbie does not mean they don't have cash to employ someone. If one has the cash and can afford employing someone to get the job done, why not. It will work for newbie if they have plans. Its all about working smart now a days

For a newbie, I don't see how they can work smart, when they practically have no idea about the rigours and challenges of what they are going into.
