Why The Fuss About National Assembly Leadership? by fowowe411: 12:40pm On May 24, 2015 |
Am I the only one who's not interested in who becomes what in the National Assembly. Truth is, my opinion, members of the National Assembly have never served the interest of the masses of this country. They go there to serve their own interests, the interests of their cronies and the bloody capitalists in our midst who can lobby them to do one or two things that will further fertilise their capitalistic cravings all disguised as serving the interests of the majority. Only very few exceptions! When Dimeji Bankole was speaker, what benefits did he bring to Ogun State and the southwest at large? What about Patricia Etteh? Even President Obasanjo, what unique things did he do in the SW? The terrible Ota road, what has happened to it over the years? I am not interested in where a leader comes from. What matters to me is his capacity to deliver. Pardon my digression. How has David Mark presidency in the senate brought development to Benue State except for his cronies he tried to 'fix' up? Nigerian legislators have not lived up to expectations, I doubt if they will do in the in- coming administration. The state houses of assembly are worse. Those ones are just errand boys for the sitting governors regardless of which political party is in charge. Pardon my blanket condemnation. Legislative arm of government? I am still to find what actually they are doing for the masses. Tell me if you know. |
