It hurts deeply that a country as big as Nigeria has no solid police force/ structure in place. Instead of earning respect from the citizens, all they get is disdain and mockery from both young and old as a result of their shameful acts. They use the power given to them to safe-guard lives and properties to torment, oppress, cheat, insult, steal , extort etc ...the lives that are meant to be protected for their egotistical and callous gain One thing that shocked me was the day some policemen stopped and requested for vehicle particulars and related documents. The driver of the politely gave it to them, only for them (without checking the content of the documents) to say 'you dey claim say u wise abi' 'oya your insurance' the driver without much ado handed it to them. Angrily, one them policemen summoned the driver and asked him if knows what he's in for. The poor in fear had to start begging (without offence) that he's ready to co-operate and play by their rules. Someone in the vehicle, out of frustration came out and asked why they have refused to let the poor man continue his journey only to given tumultous slap in the face and severe beating that left every other person in the bus quiet, mute and dumb-founded. The afforementioned is one out of many mal-treatments of the Nigerian police to its innocent citizens. I would like to know why policemen in Nigeria maltreat her citizens, even when they obey pre-defined rules and regulations NB: Your views could help re-shape them Thanks |

Lols nigerians dont no their rights dats y police do dem anyhw. Bt OP wot did u do when d policemen were doing all dis,dnt tell me u stood watchin d drama unfold... U c dat u ve a part 2 play in dis rot. U should ve questioned d policemen why dy were doin dat,u would probably get a befitting response,since u didnt y asking us......abi we get police pple for NL ni..... Change it to "Why Do NIGERIANS Maltreat People" Only police  Is it police collecting bribes at airport to let people into their own country? Immigration Is it police beating people up at airport? No Airforce Is it police collecting bribes and maltreating people just to get a passport for their own country?
