A day after fuel marketers agreed to resume distribution of petroleum products, fuel stations have opened their gates tentatively to motorists. The hangover however remained, with most of them still selling at well above the official price of N87/l.
National Daily investigations revealed that most of the stations we still selling at N200/l, but fewer queues.
Nigerian fuel marketers had agreed to resume distribution on yesterday after weeks of disruption led to chronic fuel shortages, bringing phone companies, banks and airlines to a standstill days before the inauguration of the country's new president.

Chinedu Okoronkwo of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria told reporters fuel marketers had resolved to call off their campaign of depot closures after a meeting with the finance minister and lawmakers.
Okoronkwo said he expected petroleum product supplies countrywide to normalize within 24 hours.
