My hp laptop gives me an average of 4 hrs battery life, which kind of troubles me as i find it insufficient sometimes.

I thought of switching and i found out that macbooks have the best battery life. I have no previous long usage experience with macbooks, so i'm lost here.
So for all those who have switched from windows to macbooks or have experience of both OS, what are the pro's and con's of Mac OS over windows.

Real life experiences please, not googled answer. grin

PS: I do light weight video editing, graphics design and programming. I can forfeit gaming. grin

I have. What I'm after is real life experience from real people. Do you have any experience with mac OS?

I don't own one, I have only worked extensively on Mac OS. There is no advantage except for at the command line (which can be overcome with 3rd party applications like PuTTY).
