Here is what I found on my banana plantation this morning. Imagine, I saw two bunches of banana on a stem. Initially when I saw it at another farm last year, I was surprised because I have never seen a specie of banana like this. Just thought of sharing it with fellow nairalanders

This looks like plantain, not banana.

We used to have some double bunch bearing plantain trees in our yard back in the day.

OP....are you sure you are a farmer? ? That is plantain and not banana. ... Anyways, this phenomenon occurs quite often, just ensure you support the stem of the plant with wooden poles as the load well be much heavier as the fruit matures. This is to prevent early collapse of the plantain plant. ..
