There are indications that the former Governor of Abia
State, Mr. Ogbonnaya Onu, has been appointed as the new
Secretary to the Federal Government.
Although the announcement has not been officially, those
close to the administration said it come any moment from
now.
The suave and gentle politician has beaten the likes of
Senator Chris Ngige to the post, which is the highest
available to the people of the South East in the current
dispensation.
Onu replaces the one-time governor who takes over from
Anyim Pius Anyim.
Sources said that while some powerful interests wee
rooting for Senator Ngige, who is seen as having more
followership across Southeast states, President Buhari
himself settled for Onu who has been an ally since their All
Nigeria Peoples Party days.
According to them, Onu is one of the few persons from the
former ANPP faithfuls that he found to be trustworthy and
straightforward.
