The hotly anticipated Windows 10 will officially be available on July 29. This exciting piece of information is coming just few weeks after AMD CEO Lisa Su prematurely revealed the release date of the new unified operating system.

What we ready know is that Windows 10 would be offered as a free upgrade for existing users of Windows 7 and 8.1. Users with pirated copy of previous Windows installation from Windows 7 upwards will also have the freedom to upgrade to Windows 10.

Windows 10 brings back the highly requested Start menu which was killed under Steve Ballmer in the wake of Windows 8. The Start menu would be unique; it will run across PCs, tablets and smartphones. A new Brower, Edge will also be bundled into the operating system. Windows 10 is Microsoft biggest and coordinated attempt to win over mobile users, the company has completely revamped its store, created a platform, Project Astoria which makes it easy for existing apps on Android and iOS to be ported for Windows devices. This will eliminate the “no-apps” issue that has continued to cast a spell on Windows mobile devices as a result of its small market-share.

Windows 10 will be available in Home, Mobile, Pro, Enterprise and Education editions.

The Home edition is basically what you will see in most desktop PCs, laptops and hybrids. By default, it will have support for Microsoft digital assistant Cortana, Edge browser, Hello face recognition, iris scanner and fingerprint login for various Windows apps such as Photos, Maps, Mail, Calendar, Music and Video.

Windows 10 Pro edition is built for business users in mind. It has all the features of Windows 10 Home edition, including additional features for security, cloud computing and the likes. Windows 10 Enterprise edition is also designed for medium and large organizations that would be exposed to a fantastic long range of features to better manage their organizations.
