Sometimes up and coming teams like Nigeria have fragile temperament, they're often much better than their confidence would suggest. They need bedding in. On the biggest stage, one win, a draw and suddenly the slow plodding start gains momentum. Nigeria needed a medium strength group not a group with all the strongest teams in it where two defeats they're out and the remaining games becomes pointless and so they loose that one also.
