Some Niger Delta ex-militants under the umbrella name of Justice Group, have appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari, not to scrap the on-going amnesty programme so as to keep their bodies and souls together.

Their leader, David Owhegbe, who spoke in Ethiope West Local Government Area of Delta State, said, they admit that the PDP government failed in their promises but mare very hopeful of the new Government of Change.

Owhegbe said any attempt to scrap the programme by the federal government, will affect their survival and daily living.

“Since the government of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has completely failed us and the nation in general in its 16 years rule, we were already thanking God when the All Progressives Congress, APC, administration came with the change slogan.

“We felt that relief had come to the masses of Nigeria and we have now been liberated from the bondage of ill administration, until we started hearing of the issue of scrapping the amnesty. If President Muhammadu Buhari goes ahead to scrap the amnesty programme, it means majority of us will die from starvation. We beg the president not to scrap it because it will adversely affect us and our families.”

He is not scrapping it, he's only allowing it to die a natural death.

Go and beg your god (GEJ) who fixed December 2015 as the death date of amnesty to help you resurrect it when it finally dies.

He won't scrap it, provided you can state in not less than 5,000 words, why you should be earning salaries while other Niger Delta graduates roam the streets without jobs. Also, explain what you have done to deserve the monthly payments.

How are you better than the youths who have choosen not to take up arms but rather pursue a better future through education, skills acquisition and other legitimate means?
