Job Details
The Head, External Relations and Policy Advocacy will facilitate the design and implementation of effective business development/marketing strategies, aimed at enhancing LCA's brand equity and ultimately increasing its revenue generation capacity.

Role
Overall responsibility for LCA's marketing initiatives, publications and events such as conferences and seminars.
Develop and implement operational work programmes, including a detailed marketing plan, for the department in line with LCA's overall corporate strategy.
Cultivate strong relationships with the international, regionalllocal media print and broadcast to deliver LCA's messages and serve as key media contact for the LCA.
Engage with the public and private sector in igeria and abroad to drive the uptake of arbitration services in Nigeria.
Develop new concepts and ideas to extend understanding, inform policy and improve the practice of arbitration and ADR in Nigeria.
Assess, interpret and evaluate the outcomes of research activities.
Ensure the connection between LCA's policy and advocacy activities and its marketing and external relation functions.
Coordinate research and development activities, including the publication of thought leadership articles and opinions in reputable journals and magazines.
Coordinates with mechanical, electrical and instrumentation personnel on activities for preventive and corrective maintenance schedules ensuring repairs works are done properly.
Manage relationships with all stakeholders and identify new business opportunities and alliances for the LCA.
Represent LCA atADR seminars and conferences, as required.
Perform other tasks as assigned by the Executive Secretary.

Qualifications
First degree or its equivalent in the legal field
Postgraduate degree in a relevant discipline
Minimum of 10 years experience in external relations, marketing, communications or advocacy of which 3 years must have been at management level
ADR experience preferred

Skills
Extensive knowledge of key issues and trends within the arbitration sector
Good understanding of the operations of an arbitration institution
Well honed skills to persuade, influence and negotiate and also to manage and sustain effective, successful relationships both internally and externally
Good project management and organization skills
Excellent entrepreneurial orientation
Excellent leadership/supervisory and people management skills.
