National Daily Awards for "Excellence" or Pretence Awards events in Nigeria are mere publicity stunts by many newspapers and NGOs who have been giving awards to many so called worthy Nigerians who should rather be prosecuted for fraudulent activities and arrested by the EFCC. The National Daily Awards of last Thursday in Lagos was a comedy of errors. Why should a state governor be given an award for simply doing his job with tax payers money? Does the Senate President deserve any national honour for excellence as an icon of leadership? For rigging election? Who is fooling whom? |
