Senator Bukola Saraki of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been elected as the Senate President of the 8th National Assembly. Saraki, a former Governor of Kwara state, who was supported by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Tuesday was unanimously elected as the Senate President. He defeated Ahmad Lawan, who was the preferred candidate of the APC.

Considering the drama surrounding his emergence as Senate President, there's going to be a massive ripple effect across the board.

After the mock vote, Lawan supporters showed their hands way too early in the game. This will definitely put them on Saraki’s bad side and you definitely don't want to be on Saraki's bad side.
