I watched a local football match today in my area. It was knockout stage. The game carried on normally for 60mins without goal until something strange happened, team A won a throwin, a player took the throwin and the ball went into the net without touching any player now the goal was awarded by the referee and thats how the game came to an end in chaos my question is, is there any rule that state that a goal cannot be scored straight from throwin? |

Yes, its counted as a goal. I've actually watched a match where a Brazilian Female U-20 player scored from a Direct throw-in. I was wonderful, 'cos She did an acrobatic before she threw the ball. 1 Like |

A goal cannot be scored directly from a throw-in – if a player throws the ball directly into their goal without any other player touching it, the result is a corner kick to the opposing side. Likewise an offensive goal cannot be scored directly from a throw in - the result is a goal kick to the opposition team.in your own case, a goal kick should have been awarded. |
