Nigerian Senate In Land Grab Conspiracy Blunder? by thislife: 5:43pm On Feb 20, 2009 |
We have all heard the accusations and recommendations made by the Senate Commmitee on FCT on the FCT probe, prime among these is that El- Rufai allocated 3000 and something plots after the Federal Executive Council had supposedly been dissolved on the 16th May 2007 [not regarding that the process for land allocation could take from three months to a year], Well , Independent investigators suspecting a land grab conspiracy went into action to verify this, Their findings, , The Federal Executive Council met on the 23rd May 2007, at which it was expressly stated, 'The Federal Executive Council will remain in place till May 29th 2007', in fact there was no mention at all of dissolution of the Council at the meeting of 16th May 2007 as erroneously acted upon by the Senate, and being echoed as fact by some press. El Rufai acted perfectly within his legal and official capacity. For anybody who doubts this blunder by the Senate you are free to check the records including back editions of newspapers and official publications and inform us of your findings , no wonder the statements in this link from Thisday of 6th February 2009 http://www.thisdayo nline.com/ nview.php? id=134944. This is not holding brief for El Rufai or absolving him of any genuine allegations. , seems rather a serious blunder in the malicious rush to grab people's plots in Abuja, please check the records yourself. |
