‘Declare Assets, Make Public Fashola Handover Note’ PDP Charges Ambode by Sanchez01: 9:52am On Jun 15, 2015

The People’s Democratic Party, Lagos State Chapter, has charged the Governor of Lagos, Akinwunmi Ambode with a 14 days ultimatum, asking him to declare his assets before embarking on state projects.

The PDP which gave the governor till the 29th of June have also demanded that the Governor make public the details of the handover notes and assets of the outgone governor, Babatunde Raji Fashola.

The PDP Publicity Secretary, Mr Taofik Gani, in a statement warned that the Governor would be labelled as a ‘Governor pretender’ all through his tenure if he fails to yield to the 14 days ultimatum.

“The deliberate neglect will however compel us and other well meaning Lagosians to explore the relevance of the Freedom of Information Act (FoI Act) on the matter.” said Mr. Gani.

According to the PDP, the necessity for the Governor to make public his assets his championed by the debt the state presently sits on.

Immediate past Governor of Lagos State, Babatunde Raji Fashola, in May admitted he amassed N435bn debt in his eight years reign as the Governor of the state.

Clowns, Ambode never made such a promise during elections and he has fulfilled the requirements of the law. End of discussion grin

Handover notes are government secrets.

They are used for shaping policies and enhancing regulations.

PDP must be unconcious to have asked for such govt secrets to be published..that party is seriously in coma.

Meanwhile...did Ambode vow during his campaigns to publicly declare his assets? If the answer is no,then he is good to follow the simple requirement of declaring it to CCB.

PDP should forget Lagos State...it is too sophisticated for them

i wouldnt really call it decent opposition, I will call it misbehaving and nit picking. There are many problems in lagos that needs to be addressed. the ex governors assets is not one of them (unless its tinubus)

Fashola will never be labelled as anything short of a visionary, I'm sure Lagosians wouldnt mind him having 25 terms. I myself just need him as president! grin grin grin

Can PDP be a decent opposition? Asking Ambode to make public fashola's hand over note. They should tell Buhari to make public Jonathan's hand over note too.
APC as an opposition can never be compared to the clownish PDP opposition, afterall you can see the PDP faction here on NL who have become trolls and have made this section boring with senseless and childish comments.
Just 12 days in office and they keep opening multiple threads of lamentations and posting useless childish comments. To loose must really hurt. What they fail to understand is wishing this government failure is wishing their hungry selves and families failure. If the government fails, they suffer for it and not the government. We gave Jonathan hos chance and he blew it. They should live or die with it.

You are being insincere and unpatriotic. What is wrong with the demand?

@Topic: I endorse PDP demand. That will instill transparency though I don't see that happening under Ambode

Just imagine yourself! What do yu mean "government secret"? So you have agreed now that the business of Lagos state governance is shrouded in secrecy? Isn't that shameful? So it is okay for the Governor to maintain the secrecy? Does Lagos state belong to Ambode or to Lagos people irrespective of party? So it it bad for PDP to demand Ambode's asset because "Ambode never promised public declaration during campaign"? Did Jonathan made the promise in 2007 when the opposition and Nigerians called for his asset? Did Jonathan promised in 2011 when some of you guys (mysef included) were calling for his asset? Fear God(gods)...Search your conscience

Why didn't they ask APC to make public GEJ's handover notes? or why are u not also requesting for that? Making handover notes public is never mandatory, stop all this your hate, which PDP governor has made his own notes public? Anyway been in the opposition is not easy

You see why we keep saying that the APC is hypocritical? What concerns Lagos state PDP requests to Ambode with Buhari? Did anyone complain that Buhari shouldn't make GEJ handover note public? What is wrong in demanding transparency? You people are more of cult-followers. Anyway, some of you are working for your money by posting rubbish to support criminality.

How many governors of PDP controlled states have done that? However, where was it stated in the constitution that a Governor should make his handover note public?

It's better for everyone in Lagos, if he declares his assets. Stealing will become harder.
