Nigerian football has taken a severe beating recently. Team performances across board have suffered and as Nigerians hope for better football at all levels some reoccurring decimals have been highlighted. If these trends are not checked early enough there will be more tears for the teeming fans of the game.

Some of the ugly reoccurring decimals eating deep into the future of Nigerian football include the following:

Over time, Fans and sports analysts mounted pressure on the NFF to send Nigerian coaches on refresher courses abroad to enhance his exposure and technicality.

There is no doubt that if Coach Manu Garba had special training, the U-20 team would have performed better in terms of technicality. That much was obvious.

The NFF Chairman Amaju Pinnick introduced Prozone to improve match preparation for the national teams.

What have they done with the software, giving our poor tactical displays in two major tournaments this month?

Every weekend, you see representatives of the NFF putting on jerseys to show their love and support for Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea. Even State governors and commissioners are not left out.

As this national madness progresses, Nigerian football continues to suffer both in divisive boardrooms and on the patchy pitches. We forgot that Nigerian football reached its peak in 1994 and that we have gone to sleep ever since.
