Till now, people still see open gutters filled with crap as normal. You have a 100 million naira house surrounded by open smelly gutters. Even VI and Lekki in Lagos that should by now be tourist locations, still present you with a bevy of open smelly gutters for all to see with no sidewalks for pedestrians. We still have no electricity, water, security... Don't you guys feel like crying sometimes, or is it just me? Then you have roads meant for cars now filled with hundreds of hawkers FREELY walking on roads, jostling for positions with cars. Someone is pissing in public at every turn you make. Even classy hotels are not left out of the madness, e.g, 4Point hotel VI, which now has people selling tomatoes and stuff in front of it, thus turning a classy hotel to just another market place. You have malams that just build shanties anywhere they like to start selling items. ... ... What is wrong with us? I'm almost in tears right now. |

Allow me make 2 points clear. I'm glad you are admitting the fact that something is wrong. But I'm not happy you are seeing it only from the environmental aspect. |

Because Dullards have been elected continuously by the people since 1960. |

Emekamex:Very sad men, very few heroes amongst the lot. Even the so called hero in Lagos, Fashola, couldn't provide water to citizens and provide saner streets. Sometimes I wish I was in charge, the solutions are clear, but these selfish leaders will never implement them. |

jaysniggs:I touched other areas as well, however, the environmental area is the most obvious symptom of our failed society, hence my highlighting it. How else do you explain simple things like refusal to construct closed gutters? You go to Europe, Asia, America and you can hardly tell where gutters are. Our leaders go there to see all these things, yet come hone to construct anything they like. I'm just like why should gutters be open? Why won't police enforce road laws and chase away hawkers? Why won't we provide power with coal, like most developed countries do, so that "vandalized pipelines" only affect a quarter of production at most, instead of affecting like 80% production? .... The black man is just proving to be more and more selfish, not willing to uplift his society even when in the corridors of power. |
