I am going to tell the two of you a story....I hope you listen.

During world war 2, the Nazi government of Germany invaded and conquered the Netherlands. And almost immediately they began implementing their evil racist polices....which included the detention and eventual transfer of Jews resident in the country to death camps.

A family of Dutch watchmakers along with others, hid many Jews and helped them escape to safer countries like the UK. One of the member of the family was a woman by the name of Corrie Ten Boom.

One dark day in 1994, Corrie and her family were betrayed by a neighbour and were arrested by the Gestapo (the Nazi Secret Police) and eventually sent to harsh labour camps. Corrie's older sister Betsie died. Her aged father died in jail. Her nephew also died in jail. Her elder brother's health never recovered...and he died after the end of the war.

After the war.....Miss Ten Boom had a chance to meet again the man who betrayed them, as well as the commandant of one of her prision camps and one of the more brutal guards.

She did not curse them. She forgave them.

Because....it was not easy for her by the way.....that is what Jesus wants us to do. Forgive.

Whatever happened to the New Testament? Why y'all leaving by the Old Testament? Jesus brought a total approach. He wouldn't curse his enemies. Even when Peter cut off the ear of one those that came to arrest him, he put it back. He encouraged us to pray for our enemies. The need us most

It seems most Nigerians have forgotten to forgive.

I leave you with the story of Elisabeth Elliot. Her husband Jim Elliot was killed by some Central American tribesmen in the 1950's.

A few years later...she went back and became a missionary to those same people.

All of her husband's killers were converted to Christ by her ministry.

No cursing involved.

A Kernersville, North Carolina woman has chosen to forgive the abductors, who kidnapped her at gunpoint.

Susan Patrick told her remarkable story over the weekend at Kernersville's Calvary Chapel.

Three months ago, two men walked up to her while she was unloading goods from her car. Police later said one of the men had a gun.

"They proceeded to make me walk down my driveway, down my street and picked me up and put me in my trunk and took me away," Patrick told the congregation.

The men had planned on robbing her. But she quickly called 911 and was rescued by law enforcement authorites within minutes.

Police have charged three teenagers in connection with Patrick's kidnapping.



[size=14pt]Patrick called the incident "the longest 15 minutes of her life," and months later she says it still haunts her.

"It's not how great your sin is or how bad you messed up, but God has grace and mercy for everyone," she told Winston - Salem television station WXII.

"So the same kind of grace and mercy that He shows to me for the little things I've done, He shows to people who have done much and far worse," she explained.[/size]

While the teens were waiting for their trial to begin, Patrick said she sent all three of the men a copy of the Bible to read during their incarceration.

Her persistence and her prayers may have been answered. One of the men is now attending weekly church services held at Calvary Chapel of the Triad's satellite prison ministry.

"I think it's awesome because that means that God is working in that person's life," Patrick explained. "There's no question about that."

I thought Jesus said we should continue to pray for our enemies and even those who persecute us?
Even Jesus prayed on behalf of those who impaled him asking His Father to forgive them?
How come this man of God is doing just the opposite; cursing kidnappers? How will that change anything? What difference will it make? It's like flogging a dead horse. For anyone to engage in kidnapping, that person must have been a looser. Any curse on such ones is like "cursing the cursed".

Men of god must live and walk in the footsteps of the one they claim to follow.
