Diekivie Ikiogha, reputed to be a close friendof former President, Goodluck Jonathan, has dumped the Peoples Democratic Partyforthe All Progressives Congress. Ikiogha, switched allegianceto the APCata ceremony held on Saturday, June 20, atthe Kpansiaopen field, in Yenagoa, Bayelsa. The politicianwas a former Bayelsa State Chief of Staff, anda trustedally of Governor Seriake Dickson aswell asJonathan. While addressing the crowdthat came to witnesshisofficialdefection to the APC, Ikiogha saidhe decidedto quit the PDP because it is a partyfullof betrayalsanddeceits. He said, “There is lack of internal democracy andit is a partywhere the highest biddersalwayshave their way. Ikiogha was Chief of Staff until Dickson removed him from office in controversial circumstances and redeployed him to the state’s Abuja Liaison Office. He resignedhisappointment in October 2014to contest the House of Representatives ticket forthe Yenagoa/Kolokuma/Opokuma Federal Constituency, but he would failto get the ticket. |
