heheheheeh. I kinda agree with that. I love Tupac but NEVER bought any of the albums apart from the greatest hits album.

I remember buying the Slim Shady LP in March 1999 and listening to it for 3 months solid before I could listen to any other album.

However, on deeper reflection my best rap album of all time without doubt is Dr Dre's 'Chronic". Awesome!!!

Well . . . my bad . . . though topic says "Greatest Album . . .", I spun it around to read "My Greatest Album[i]s[/i]".

Talkin' bout albums, I somewhat believe Biggie managed to make better albums than Pac . . . talkin' bout hits, I tend to believe Pac made more hits than Biggie (maybe cos Biggie's career was short-lived ) . . . talkin' bout general artistry, I rate both of 'em equally . . . they're ma top two rappers . . . one on tha hip side . . . the other on tha deep side . . .

Now, what made me love "All Eyez On Me" is dude had some manifold-ish up in that album . . . the reflective, the upbeat, name it . . . plus being the first ever double CD that spawned hits like "Ambitionz Az a Ridah", "Got My Mind Made Up", "Life Goes On", "Can't C Me", "Holla at Me", etc - C'mon, I gotta be deaf not to list it in ma top 3 . . .

That was Pac's defining album.

I think it depends on the way individuals digested these albums when they first heard it.
The first B.I.G. track i heard from 'Ready 2 Die' album was 'The What' featuring Meth. . . . .
I mean. . . . .I used to see Method man as one of em rap heavyweights but BIGGIE just took him to the cleaners on that track.
The anticipation got me running to cop the album and from track 1-17, it was just lyrical bliss.

READY TO DIE is peerless.

I don't like Ja Rule but 'Venni Vetti Vecci' album wasn't bad at all. . . . .
He lost his moral compass when featuring Ashanti became the main course of his albums.
From hardcore hip-hop to Boyz II Men blues and listeners started remembering Ja Rule's songs by Ashanti's voice and NOT by his lyrics.
Fiddy finished what was left of his epileptic music career.

Nelly is just a nursery rhyme merchant. . . . .He shouldn't be taken serious.

Nas's Illmatic is the greatest rap album ever made. period

The quintessential hiphop sound, subject matter and delivery.
