At the Teen Tech Awardsin London, a team of teenage inventors unveiled a condom capable of changing color when it comes in contact with a sexually transmitted infection (STI).
London’s Isaac Newton Academy student Muaz Nawaz,Daanyaal Ali,and Chirag Shah, wanted to make detecting harmful STD’s without going through testing, so they created the “smart” condom.

Daanyall said: “We created the S.T.EYE as a new way for STI detection to help the future of the next generation.
“We wanted to make something that make detecting harmful STIs safer than ever before, so that people can take immediate action in the privacy of their own homes without the invasive procedures at the doctors.
“We’ve made sure we’re able to give peace of mind to users and make sure people can be even more responsible than ever before.”
The condom has a built-in indicator that changes color depending on what infection it detects. The students saidit may glow green for chlamydia, yellow for herpes, purple in the presence of the human papillomavirus which causes genital warts, and blue for syphilis.
The S.T.EYE is not available in stores yet and is still just a concept, but there is clearly a market for the product.

Will the condom change colour before or after the action? Men generally become colour blind when nearing the action.

Children who should be learning basic mathematics and sciences.... anyway, if u are using it at night without electricity,how would u know the colour it's turned into?

It would glow, what they have done is simple and not rocket science, when you test a blood sample for STI or any disease using test strips , it's the presence of certain quantity of chemicals, proteins etc that reacts to the purpose coated strip and causes a certain colour to be displayed.

The colour itself is manufacturer determined by die on the paper/plastic, and a glow can be enabled via luminous coating
