GFA Ghana Football Association paid tribute to the famous Black Stars Striker who is dead now George Arthur.

The player George Arthur died on 14th of June 2015 on Sunday due to cardiac arrest.

“King George, as he was affectionately called, will be missed across the game. He was well known for his humility and exceptional football skills.”
“He has been a true inspiration to many in the football family and will be remembered for his exemplary character, sense of humour and knowledge about the game of football”, the GFA said in a tribute to the George Arthur.

“The GFA is saddened by this great loss and extends its heartfelt condolences to the family and friends.”

King George Arthur also played for BA United before joining Kumasi Asante Kotoko in the 1980’s and he is remembered for scoring a double in a Ghana Premier League match between Kotoko and rivals Hearts of Oak at the Accra Sports Stadium in 1987.

He also played for Egyptian club side Al Ahly and was a member of the Black Stars team in the late 80’s.

After retirement, he went into football administration when he became the CEO of his former side , BA United.The one week commemoration will be held on Sunday 21st June 2015 at the Presbyterian School Park Fiapre-Sunyani may his soul rest in peace.
