Echoing the plea of the NotInMyName social media campaign, Ahmadi Muslims say terms such as 'Islamist' are a complete nonsense.

"Terrorists are not in any way, shape or form a part of Islam- they are the very antithesis of the value of the faith- indeed of any faith.

"We are dealing with a terror mentality and mixing that up with a worldwide faith is abhorrent.

"Extremists do not act or speak for Islam any more than white supremacists speak for white people or a rapist speaks for men. The evil that they do stems from their own warped view of the world and it behoves us all to stand united against a common threat.

"On a day when Shia Muslims have been massacred in Kuwait, when tourists and Tunisians have been murdered in Tunisia and a man has been decapitated in France we must recognise the fact that hatred does not discriminate, nor can it masquerade as a faith.

"To call terrorists 'Islamist' means we concede to their warped view- let them be known as terrorists, because that is all they are. Do not dignify them with any faith as they are the enemies of faith and a threat to humanity."

Lest we forget, Muslims know themselves better than non-Muslims.

The extremist ideology of Boko Haram started from the erroneous doctrine of an Islamic cleric.
The Boko Haram insurgency worsened, because it was politicized and our military intelligence failed too.
Boko Haram terrorists are not invisible and every Muslim in the north knows where they are, because by word of mouth they have been communicating and recruiting more ignorant foot soldiers.
When extremists were attacking and beheading Igbos in the north and displaying them on the streets, the government did not arrest them and none of them was arraigned. That was the genesis of the crisis. It is too late to cry now.
