Having had a thorough look at our our music industry, you don't need a suite sayer to tell you that the no. of record labels in this country seems
to be more than the so called muscians or artistes.
It's been made a habbit here in Nigerian that once you manage to make aleast 2 successful hits wether consecutive or not,the next thing should be establishing your own record label, having formed the habbit of checking out an artiste's record label on some of the popular music showing channels (SoundCity,Trace,MTV etc),questions that continue popping through my head is if actually these record labels do actually exist or are the just mere names to aid uniqueness. No doubt in this country we are only familiar with record labels hiting us up with Bang of songs week in week out, such as MARVIN,CHOCOLATE CITY,MMMG,CAPITAL HILL,EME,etc.
The questions which continues to pose itself on such issue is what's the essence of so may record labels when just very few are giving us what seems to be the supposed taste of music?.Would end by asking question such as :
1.'' WHERE IS WANDE COAL AFTER BREAKING LOOSE FROM MARVIN & GIVING US BABY HELLO"
2. WHERE IS D'BANJ & his music carrier after establishishing his dynasty of BANGALEE'S

And the anwer to those would surely be ''it's easier to produce a HIT song than to handle the pressure associated & expected of a RECORD LABEL,which sums it all up to TALENT E.g Banky W,Don Jazzy

Just my view though
