Saraki Did Not Step Down For Buhari – Presidency by gistyinka(m): 4:25pm On Jun 28, 2015
The special adviser to the President Buhari, on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, on Saturday, said there was no truth in the claim by Saraki that he stepped down for President Buhari in the APC presidential race.

Adesina, in an interview with one of Punch correspondents, said the issue of stepping down did not arise because the party conducted a free and fair presidential primary which Buhari won.

The presidential spokesman said all Nigerians know those who took part in the party primary.

Adesina said, “There was no issue of stepping down during the presidential race in the APC. There was a presidential primary that was plain, transparent, free and fair.

“We all know those who were involved in the primary; all Nigerians know those who participated in the APC presidential primary and President Buhari emerged the winner of that process.”

When asked if Saraki had reached out to the President as he claimed, Adesina said, “The President has always maintained that the party is supreme. The party started a process which was truncated.

“The President has always maintained that those who truncated or aborted the process were the ones who precipitated crisis.

“The President had said in earlier statements that he would work with anybody who emerged the Senate President, but then, that did not include those who will subvert (the process).”

.saraki is a big joker,i remember he stopped his presidential bid and didn't declare his support for any of the aspirant. Nobody told him to step down for buhari, because the party never asked any of the candidates to step down.

The Presidency is clearly upset with Saraki, it's not surprising he has adopted a reconciliatory tone lately. His treachery will soon be treated by the same PDP he initially abandoned and is now romancing at the cost of his current party. His ultimate plan is to sieze the fairly revived PDP with Atiku and Yerima et al., and I believe the PDP is smart enough to know that.

As far as he does not cross the path of President Buhari or stand in the way of his reforms, he can keep fooling himself for now.

Lol even though he managed to win the primaries which was mission impossible GEJ would have given him flawless victory I doubt if he would even have up to a million votes.

He betrayed PDP at a point and he has now betrayed APC by going against party directives.
I don't know how his political future will look like after Senate President.

Saraki didn't participate in the primary so how did he come before Sam Nda Isah ?

"The President had said in earlier statements that he would work with anybody who emerged the Senate President, but then, that did not include those who will subvert (the process).”

Anyway, Saraki has now taken his political career from the ICU to a nursing home, there is no two ways about it, he is enjoying his last gasp of political relevance.

Both PDP & APC already know he has zero honour or dignity!!! What a shame.
