Mrs. Jonathan’s Former Security Chief Killed by Super1Star: 11:38pm On Jun 29, 2015
Tamuno Jacob Igbomie, a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), who served as the Principal Security Officer (PSO) to Mrs. Patience Jonathan, wife of Nigeria’s former President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, has been killed by yet to be identified persons in what appears to be an assassination.

Igbomie had served as a security aide to Mrs. Jonathan since her husband was Deputy President.

Police sources in Abuja said the deceased, who had also served as Aide-De-Camp to Mrs. Jonathan, was found dead soaked in blood inside his vehicle last Friday night along the Airport Road, Abuja.

The police in Abuja said it has opened investigations into the killing.

Sources said the engine of the sedan Igbomie was driving was still running when he was found. Nothing was removed from the vehicle as his phones, wallet and other personal effects were in the vehicle. It wasn’t clear whether the deceased was the only passenger in the vehicle when the shooting occurred.

Police sources said the incident occurred late on Friday night.

Igbomie was redeployed to the FCT Police Command after Mrs. Jonathan ceased to be first lady of Nigeria on May 29, 2015.
