Our Rhythmic Adventures by mubarakopeyemi(m): 9:33am On Jul 01, 2015 |
I am not a writer but I love poems Also hoping I would become a great poet. check out my new poem Our Rhythmic Adventures On the ever busy streets of Lagos You either get the gains or bear the loss Where the cars' horns blows sharp and loud And not even an insect notices the sound So last month was the month of June Nice rhythms were played and we danced to the Tune Our chameleon selves never changed color And we acted with wisdom and Valor Prepared we were for our success journey Lots of cash we needed but we had few needed Sometime the N100 we had was our treasure But strong we were, we endured the pressure Last night was another mystery of success Dark in the night the item was homeless In the cold atmosphere the street was deserted Rejected? Dejected? or even infested The Briefcase's reaction was no other like an Ion With the Darkness it adapted like a Chameleon With precipitancy we hurried at its direction Stacks of cash in Dollars! Oh Lord of all nations Hurriedly, we took home our shocking treasure In fantasy and excitement, we counted in pleasure Time's running out, still counting, better we stopped In happiness we smiled, Eba Igbo must be chopped And then just after counting with our somber Lantern Whose brightness stammers with no certain pattern Up NEPA! Power had just been restored Vision dazzled! In astoundment,, we relaxed in dejection After all, the money was all beautiful papers Product of counterfeiters living in skyscrapers Alas! we had no gain still, but just the Briefcase Life's prank adventure with nothing to showcase Just this evening there came Deronke The one I love, my one and only Asake And as I lay, whilst I contemplate On my table landed her giant big plate From no where there came the big smile on my face Could moments be as sweet as this just in all ways This where we are and how we live Our dresses also all with a sleeve Only if all our stories could be sweet We would have horned out our cars on the streets Sip a wine and then go to sleep Laugh all the time and lose memory of the word 'weep' And then just when the plate landed A conclusive adventure just ended Every activity, immediately was suspended Then, the story still had not just ended ********************************* 1 Like |
