Is It Right To Dispose Old Bibles? by Drizzle007(m): 1:23am On Jul 05, 2015
I have few bibles laying around here not knowing how to dispose them because I'm confused if it's wrong to do so. So I'm bringing it to the house. Is it wrong to dispose either torn or old bibles? Nd pls give reasons for ur answers. Probably scriptural reference. Happy Sunday

Either torn or old, the Word of God inside it is still potent and powerful.

You wont because water spilled on your certificate, then dispose it. So, if you can't dispose your Earthly Certificate, why do you want to dispose the Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth----BIBLE.

Pack them to a secured place where they wont be seen as "burden" or "disposable" to you. It's the Word of God.

Bible shouldn't be something you should consider "disposable". None of us will say our certificates(NYSC,BSc,PhD etc) are 20,30,15 years old, so they are cumbersome and should be disposed. We know our livelihood depends on that/those certificate(s), so also, the BIBLE is our Manual that shows the route/way to go through.

Have you wondered why Pirates who goes on Treasure hunts values maps? That is their ONLY Manual Guide if they wont be lost in the jungles or lose finding the treasures. No matter how torn or old the treasure map is, they cherish and value it more than their Life.

Same thing should be replicated at the ONLY Manual Guide to Life Eternal-- The BIBLE.

Old bible is old disposable junk as other things.

Why are you giving special disposing consideration on what you don't need anymore.

As a formal jew, i could remember Jewish way of disposing old used Siddur and TanaK; dig a burial wide space and bury the book. It is holy grin

Get a carton... Neatly keep them. They'd serve as a memorial someday. wink

Put them in the recycle bin, they can be recycled for something better. There is no need keeping worn out bibles when you can always get a new one in stores. For all those super religious people advising the OP to neatly package junks in his house, be aware that some of the toilet papers you guys are using are made from recycled old religious books. All this safes the environment, we will need to cut less trees when we recycle junks.
