When people hear about Samsung, all that comes to mind are phones, TVs, audio systems, smart watches and other household devices and personal gadgets. While it is forgivable to think Samsung is limited to these products (of course they don't put food on your table), allow me to broaden your mind and "wow" you. Samsung is far bigger than what you think! So really how big is Samsung?

Here are things that will broaden your perspective. Samsung was founded in Korea by Lee Chull In 1938 as a trading company that dealt with local groceries and had 40 employees. Today samsung is 17% of the entire Korea's GDP. With a whooping sum of 490,000 employees, more employees than Apple, Google and Microsoft combined.

Do you know that the current tallest building in the world; The Burj Khalifa, was built by Samsung? Well, yes, this is very correct, that and numerous other sky scrapers like The Petronas Towers in Malaysia. Surprised? You’ve heard nothing yet!

Now here’s what you don’t know, Samsung consist of about 80 different businesses and affiliates, some of them include-
-Samsung Engineering & Construction.
-Samsung Trading and Investment.
-Samsung Heavy Industries which includes Ship building. Samsung has the most efficient Ship building center in the world.
-Samsung Life Insurance/Security/Trust Management.
-Samsung Petrochemical, Samsung BP Chemical.
-Samsung Hotels and Resort business.
-Samsung Medical Centre.
-In a joint venture with Renault Motors, Samsung has also been making Cars for 20years now. Apple just recently hinted plans on Electric Cars production from 2020.
-Under Samsung’s branch; Samsung Techwin, the company also does surveillance, aeronautics, automation, weapons technology including military robots. In addition to this, Samsung has also made The K9 and K10, full-fledged Army tanks.
-Samsung also runs the biggest Theme Park in Korea, Everland Park, complete with a zoo etc. Samsung size is so ridiculous that there’s even a Samsung City which contains a few of the company’s businesses.
-Samsung also has a Clothing line. In 2012, they launched a new line of Italian Men’s wear made and sold exclusively in Italy under the name, GX1983.
-Samsung operates a brand new research lab for drones, robotics and virtual reality.
-Here’s a cool one, Samsung also makes Jet engines.

These are just some of the many arms of Samsung as they are numerous.

So you know now that Samsung does just more than TVs and phones, they do basically everything. Who would’ve known that the same company that makes your phone or TV builds Jet engines, Army Tanks and Ships. Just Amazing!!!
