Evolution of computer has brought great change to our society since computer has now become indispensable. From the first generation of computers vacuum tubes were used as processors then in the second generation transistors were used then the integrated circuit was used from the 3rd till present. But recently there is a research that revolutionized computer processors.This research was successful using DNA to process instructions.The DNA will then serve as the processor having akot of advantages like no more heating(although less) of the computer's sensitive part faster and efficient. This is hoped to replace IC in the future.This is one of an example of 5th generation computers.

The period of fifth generation is 1980-till date. In the fifth generation, the VLSI technology became ULSI (Ultra Large Scale Integration) technology, resulting in the production of microprocessor chips having ten million electronic components. This generation is based on parallel processing hardware and AI (Artificial Intelligence) software.
