Street Toolz Announces Partnership With The Digital Marketing Institute, UK by Streettoolz: 4:03pm On Jul 08, 2015
Nigerians need not go abroad again for quality Digital Marketing training as Lagos-based digital startup, Street Toolz www.streettoolz.com, has announced its partnership with the world‘s leading digital training organization, Digital Marketing Institute [DMI], to bring the requisite digital marketing courses to Nigeria.

According to the Agency’s Chief Operating Officer; Semira Mahmud, “we are gland to officially announce our Digital Marketing Training
Centre in partnership with the Digital Marketing Institute, Ireland. The Centre will operate from our Digital Shed office in Lagos and will be known as Street Toolz Digital Centre (SDC).

On his part, Ian Dodson; Founder & President of the Digital Marketing Institute said, “Street Toolz, with its knowledge of the industry and the numerous subject matter experts was a prime candidate for Digital Marketing Institute’s partnership”.

He continued: Whilst highly knowledgeable and creative, Street Toolz has set out on a mission of educating Nigeria in the skill of Digital Marketing and we wish them every success in their endeavors."

The Digital Marketing Institute, headquartered in Ireland is the Global Standard in Digital Marketing Certification, with more than 65 partners around the world delivering broad and quality programmes.

The partnership was signed in April and Dodson says it was long overdue, as Africa, especially Nigeria will be the next frontier that will witness a digital transformation and DMI, the global certification standard in digital marketing wanted to be at the vanguard of this growth.

And in bringing this set of trainings, which includes the much-vaunted Professional Diploma in Digital Marketing (PDDM); the Postgraduate Diploma and the Masters degree in the same course, DMI and Street Toolz is trying to prepare the next generation for the business opportunities that are continually opening up on the continent.

Street Toolz will also offer short courses like Social Media Marketing, Digital Budgeting, Digital Strategy and Marketing, Mobile Marketing, etc. The Chief Operating Officer of Street Toolz, Semira Mahmud added that marketing communication agency professionals, marketing professionals, graduates, startups, students and those that want to change or upgrade their careers should use these courses as tools to achieve their dreams.

Nigeria has people with the requisite skills to make the digital place their playground but to be successful and maintain the cutting edge they need quality training and proper equipping.

“Digital is no longer the future. Digital is now, Mahmud added. “Marketing and branding executives need to evolve to stay relevant. Our mission is empower marketing professionals in Nigeria and Africa with the skills to do this.”

‘If you want to future-proof your career, then you need a digital marketing training and certification that will set you apart,” she added. The first set of trainings – a Digital Marketing Masterclass for Journalist was conducted on July 4, 2015 at the Street Toolz Digital Centre in Lagos. In attendance were journalists from all over the country including the President, Brand Journalist Association of Nigeria, Goddy Efosa.

According to Mr. Efosa “there is no way me or my colleagues or anyone for that matter will be able to thrive successfully in the coming days without a thorough knowledge of Digital Marketing.”

The President after offering a vote of thanks to SDC for the wealth of knowledge impacted during the course of the day also stressed the need for individuals, brands, and establishments to get adequate digital training to catch up with the fast moving times.

“It is amazing what digital entails. My first thought was that it meant Facebook, Twitter and maybe YouTube but the training showed the extent and scope of Digital Marketing.

'What we have learnt today is worth millions. Certain things we have learnt will become a part of us, and I urge everyone - my colleagues, people in other sectors, other industries, people seeking for ways to empower themselves to come in for these trainings," he added.
The agency and DMI have trained and certified top practicing Nigerian Digital Marketing professionals who will serve as faculty, course instructors and facilitators.

All courses are available for registration with online payment at Street Toolz website streettoolz.com while classes scheduled for Saturdays and Sundays with Weekends part-time and Weekdays 5:30 to 8:30pm Nigerian time. Registration is now open and lectures commence August 2015.
