I always feel bad when I post Funmi Adams' tracks online. That's because I can't find Ina Gizo Yake online. It's undoubtedly her best song and I'd love to post that first.

I had the audio cassette that had

1) Nigeria My Beloved Country.

2) Ina Gizo Yàke

3) All We Need Is Love

4)Ahayye Yaro

5) Omode

6) Nnem o

The moment I fell in love with Onyeka Onwenu.

I had the Everly Brothers version of this song (I believe that's the original) and I absolutely loved it. So, for anyone to make a cover version of the song that is as good as the original. . .that person must be really special.

So the NTA showed a competition that was staged in the UK (c1981) and an unknown Nigerian performed this song. I was blown away. In fact, I think I prefer the tempo and beat of Onyeka's version. That was Onyeka's first hit.

Unfortunately her version is not online (God bless Classic FM for playing it once in a while). Here's the Everly Brothers' version.

How about "Take A Message To Mary"? I love that song. The lyrics is just like Orlando Owoh's "Message".

How come we have forgottem David Bull, Cardinal Rex Jim Lawson's guitarist, who regrouped with the late Lawson's Mayor Band boys? They formed The Seagull Dance Band after Lawson's death in 1971. Bull himself died around 2011 or 2012. He joined Lawson's band in 1967 when his former guitarist, Ralph Amarabem went back to Owerri just before the Civil War.

I loved EVERY song on that album. I even loved the album sleeve (it had cartoon characters on it), but I think my favourite were "Dream" (that was a massive hit) and "Bird Dog" (I knew someone called Charlie and we used to tease him with it. We'd replace Johnny with Charlie). I also loved "Unchained Melody", but it wasn't on that album.

I love country music. Dolly Parton and Skeeter Davies are my favourite when it comes to country music on love. I love "Together Again" and "Rocking Years."

That part is highly coded that its being preceded and followed by the talking drum makes whoever that listens to it to be carried away by the melody, and not care to listen to its lyrics.

Please can anyone kindly help me with a link to download Commander Ebenezer Ojo's 1985 track - WORLD GOLDEN EAGLETS.

I've been trying to get it for so long.

Great. I don't know if you can create a thread on Cardinal Rex Jim Lawson? I love his brand of highlife. Last year his mausoleum was opened in Buguma, Rivers State.

Grateful if anyone remembers and/or knows the title of a song (maybe by Alex Zitto or Alex O or someone like that) that included the word 'ochongologo'?

Would be grateful for any info, thanks!

Thank God it has changed.

Why are you saying that? Am a youth and i was not wise enough when these people were actually reigning in music...but whenever i listen to any of their songs...i am always delighted, entertained, admonished and advised all in one...not the trash all this youngsters sing these days...only about money and women....no brains just beats...it is well
