The non-academic staff union(NASU) OAU chapter has paralysed all activities at Obafemi Awolowo University campus due to demonstration over their unpaid allowances. All roads(road1,road7,road 21, and tomkere gate) leading to campus were all shut down from 8am to 4pm. It started on monday and got heightened on tuesday leading to total paralysis of all activities. Power supply,water supply,vehincle movements were restricted as there was no traces of any kind. "Where two elephants fight the grass will suffer". Students residing in hall of residence has been badly hit. I use this medium to appeal to both parties involved to amicably resolve this lingering crises as an impending total shut down looms. Its now offcially declared that OAU shuts down bt what pains me is that it was tagged mid-semester break. When was d last time this happened,it was 2005/06session due to violence of awoites vs muslim. The lenght of the break. Was not known as it remains a tactics to avoid NASU protest.
