A lot have happened in the last seven days in Rivers State. It only seems like Nollywood high suspense movie to most observers. It has been the case of court orders and counter court orders. Last week the Federal High Court in Port Hacourt sacked the 22 LGA Chairmen that were elected in the last days of Rotimir Ameachi. It was hailed as victory for democracy by the PDP but soon after the police sealed the secretariats of the councils. On Monday the federal government intervened and instructed the police to unseal the offices and respect the "Rule of Law" only for the Industrial Court to reinstate those chairmen within six hours. It sure looked like a movie .

The objective of this write up isn't to side any court or political party but to point out that finally Nigerians have realised that the decision of the court is supreme. Gone are the days where the executive did not obey court injunctions or rulings. Each court has valid reasons at it disposal for reaching conclusions in it's judgement and hence should be respected.

Any party or individual that feels aggrieved should take it's plight to the court. The era of "State or Federal Might" is far behind us. The political chess game between former allies Rotimi Ameachi and Nyesom Wike which had turned sour is at it's peak. One only has to respect their political sagacity and watch. It will only become an eyesore when it turns violent and distracts the government from delivering on it's campaign promises to the electorates. Politics is a game and must be played in it's due process.

It is clear that after Wike delivered on his promise of ousting Ameachi and Lieutenants, Ameachi planted a time bomb for it with the chairmen. Ameachi might live far away from Port Hacourt but his Ghost lives on to haunt Wike.

Rivers State Chief Judge was present in Bayelsa State, but APC lawyers wrrent there.
