When did Nigeria get to this level as a Nation?

I have never seen any developed country in the world where corrupt politicians who steal from the people use the same people they steal from to cause trouble in the state. For just few peanuts, someone who has not had a good meal will be used to heat up the polity and subsequently cause mayhem, then come back to blame the government for the poor state of the economy.

I quite understand that many Nigerians are jobless, they earnestly seek better employment, they have families and responsibilities to take care of, they have a future ahead of them etc, but what I cannot understand is how they have sold their souls to these evil politicians in exchange for their future.

Is it possible that we can salvage Nigeria as a nation with our money hidden in private vaults of politicians?

Is it possible that we can achieve the needed infrastructure development with the current oil price fall and high exchange rate, and very little in our federation account?

Is it possible that we can expect miracles as nation with only $29 billion in our external reserve with nothing to show for the depletion and lack of savings by the previous administration even with the highest average recorded oil sales in Nigeria's history?

Is it possible that our present government can deliver its promise of massive job creation if they cannot be allowed to recover much of our looted wealth from the immediate past government?

Do we prefer to be receiving peanuts from the corrupt politicians and perpetually depending on them rather than getting self employed and running our own businesses and becoming self sufficient?

It is on record that at least $20 billion dollars (Equivalence of N4 trillion Naira) was lost by Nigeria to fraudulent import waivers initiated from the NIPC between 2010 and 2015.

http://www.thisdaylive.com/articles/okonjo-iweala-huge-revenue-lost-to-fraudulent-waivers/208949/

On another note, the NNPC is currently set to be probed for mismanaging approximately N3.8 trillion revenue that accrued to Nigeria between 2012 and 2015.

http://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/headlines/185838-revealed-in-three-years-nnpc-generated-n8-1-trn-gave-nigeria-n4-3-trn-pocketed-the-balance.html

But then, the same people who looted these alleged funds are bent on frustrating this probe by using their paid agents to try to convince the totality of Nigerians to join them to reject our own collective wealth from coming back to us. Let it be clearly known that whether we are compensated by the present government or not, these agents of destruction will receive their salaries in full and will even receive more if their evil plans succeed. But then, what are we left with as a nation? As youths who care about what benefits us directly, what Is our gain if we join those who are paid to cause confusion and take over the same government they destroyed for over 16 years?

This is definitely NOT the Change we voted for

I say NO to these agents of confusion. They have sold their souls to evil, we must steer clear of falling for their evil plans which will affect nobody else but us in the end. While they are living plush lives abroad, we suffer the consequences of their actions. We join them to fight against a government working for our common good, and when they destroy the system and achieve their objectives with our help (God Forbid), they get back into office and look the other way to our sufferings.

Let us collectively say NO to corruption and protection of criminals at any level of government in Nigeria. This will be the beginning of real progress in Our dear country, Nigeria.

God Bless Nigeria.

Who are these agents of doom? Do they have names?

Nice one, OP. A typical example of the agents of destruction, like you rightly mentioned, is the 'Protection Seeker' here on Nairaland. He is the biggest hypocrite of them all. I say a resounding NO to his kind. God will punish them all for continually supporting those who destroyed this country.

My brother, this awareness is very necessary. These people never sleep, they are paid to cause confusion, they are desperate. Each progress made in this country fires them into more action, but they will not succeed if we refuse to allow them.

You have written well but you have not made any suggestion how we can make a difference. Any suggestions?

When Nigeria is ready to flog the criminals that have continually rob this country, hand me the cane, my left hand will never tire.

Criminals everywhere you look or go.

A revolution that will reset the social consciousness is long overdue.

My brother we have to echo our voices loud, loud enough to remind them we're greater in number than they are, we can't stop because they do not sleep, their work is to frustrate every little thing that will prevent progress from happening because once it happens, they have failed.

They are here on nairaland, using every social media to incite people against the state so as to prevent that change from happening.

..

Your submissions are too generic. We need to treat issues as specific first then mull over them to make recommendations as concerned Nigerians.

There will always be bad people among us. It is the prerogative of the Leaders we have entrusted our mandate to check the bad people. As concerned citizens we can only support the Leaders and advise them in our little ways on how to eradicate ills in our society.
